Family Tree Maker 2006 software
Family Tree Maker 2006 has now been released in the US and a UK version is expected soon.
The amount of space for notes has been greatly enhanced in the new version and it is now possible to print notes directly using the new print button within the notes window. There are several other improvements that will help with maintaining source records are also very welcome including having to enter master source information only once.
Family Tree Maker 2006 is definitely easy to use and has a good range of features and charts, these are enhanced by a free download of Charting Companion.
The family view in FTM 2006 is particularly attractive allowing a full family group of a couple, their parents and up to eight children to be viewed in one screen.
The tight integration with the Ancestry website makes it easy to take information from the Ancestry site, both information on individuals and images, and import into FTM 2006.
Family Tree Maker has always been one of the market leaders in family history software and this latest version includes some small but significant improvements that is likely to keep it ahead of the field.
